If you put someone on a train instead of in an automobile, that doesn't reduce carbon emissions because it doesn't change the amount of gasoline that is consumed, only where it is allocated.

Companies spend a lot of money reducing transmission losses, we could just insulate the pipes better and not have to burn the gas at all!
Stray methane leaks from pipelines are an absolutely colossal source of emissions. You know what has a huge financial incentive to gobble up and mitigate that methane. Bitcoin. Nothing else does.

We should not value aesthetic preferences over peoples basic need for shelter!
But in many areas it is arguably bad to build more housing because people want to experience parts of the country at lower densities. People may just want lower density peeiod, and in a democracy they should get it, to the extent reasonably possible.

You should need a commercial license and insurance for any vehicle above passenger car size/weight.

Cons think the nationwide increase in murders (very bad, something to stop) vindicates all the lies about what happened in cities last year.
Guess all the murders don’t bother you?

We don't need to mythologize small businesses. If people have their needs taken care of it doesn't matter how they earn a living.
This is how I feel about antitrust. Favoring small biz in little ways is defense, antitrust is the stick against crushing the little guys. Doesn't everyone want to live in a country of owner-operators instead of assistant managers?

John Brown's body lies a-mouldering in the grave; His soul is marching on! Glory glory, hallelujah! his soul is marching on! He's gone to be a soldier in the army of the Lord! His soul is marching on! Now, three rousing cheers for the Union; As we are marching on!
Abolitionist John Brown was executed by the state of Virginia on December 2, 1859.

Idk why it’s controversial to say that people should be able to live in whatever neighborhood they want to

This is basically California enviormentalism in a nutshell. Suburban sprawl homes that require driving and destroying nature is enviormentally friendly cause there wont be a gas hookup.
As part of a settlement agreement with environmental groups, the massive Centennial home development at Tejon Ranch in northern L.A. County won't have natural gas hookups. Instead, homes will be built with electric heat pumps and induction stoves: latimes.com/california/story…

SCOTUS would just accept another lawsuit from the shadow docket and overturn whatever law was passed.
Codifying Roe wouldn’t accomplish anything. That’s just more cope

just want people to understand that social housing is still part of a market! you can either build enough housing to alleviate shortages, you can have waitlists, or you can implement a hukou system but you can’t redistribute your way out of a shortage!

They're using the blocks because they don't want dozens of old RVs blocking access to their business, and they don't want their employees harassed by the people living in those RVs (as is happening 2 blocks away).

This article is soooo close to getting it right. The city does not provide services to homeless people living in vehicles. But that's an indictment of the city, not of the locals trying to prevent their streets from being overrun by RVs.
