There is zero value assigned by officials like this to the serious mental and psychological costs -- sure to be enduring -- of constantly isolating and distancing and shunning neighbors. COVID risks should be weighed *against* the costs of what's being decreed in its name. Watch:

I've been very lucky. I've been able to work from home, leave the city, be with my husband and kids and friends and dogs. The burden falls on people who are stuck in small places, lost their jobs, live alone, etc. They're not heard much from in elite discourse so it's ignored.
