Welcome to 2022: SA CHO Nicola Spurrier is going through COVID modelling and referring to graphics - that no one can see bar the few journos at the presser - live on TV. Outside. On a windy day.

Reckon I saw two people out of approximately 30 checking in with QR codes at Cooleman Court this morning. Pretty telling.

Rafa Nadal said that he believes “in what the people who know about medicine say, and if the people say we need to get vaccinated, we need to get the vaccine,” before pointedly adding, “If you do this, you don’t have any problem to play here.” washingtonpost.com/sports/20…

This is a great example of govt officials having a bet each way and wanting to be seen to be doing something. “Capped” at 20,000 seems fairly pointless
Lol attendance at Summernats "capped" at 20,000 people per day. What's the point?

This is sub-optimal.
Scott Morrison previously said he personally bought his own covid test @samanthamaiden reports it was actually a staffer "The Prime Minister's chauffeur-driven car pulled up at the chemist and Mr Morrison remained in the car while his staffer popped inside to buy him the test"

Strong story. @JoeHockey says that Ellume, a client of his, are producing 700,000 rapid tests every week in Australia and shipping all of them under contract to the US. “The US government backed them when…the Australian government didn’t”.
Exclusive: Commonwealth bureaucrats, in confidential briefings, told business groups in October that there would not be significant supply issues associated with the rollout of rapid Covid-19 tests while lauding their ability to protect the community theaustralian.com.au/nation/…

3. Cwth govt determined it to be a private market opportunity not a universal public health measure 4. Cwth govt did not ensure adequate supply 5. Cwth govt did not put in place a results-recording regime In contrast English NHS has been using RATs since April in a systematic way
