Theocrats vs Plutocrats - pick your preferred mode of oppression based on allegiances in Culture War. Both include heavy structural racism, sexism, and classism while the Theocrats offer the added bonus of religious persecution and sexual subjugation. I await your add-ons.

One teacher announced today she's quitting, effective 2/7. Contract cancelation costs $3k. So you know she's had it. She's already at home with Covid, and 2 others were out today.

Plus, the other English teacher left with symptoms after 2nd hr. She'll be out tomorrow. 4/9 teachers pit tomorrow, but we're still in-person!

There's no learning happening. The kids are dejected; they know this shit isn't right. Upper admin can't admit their mistake and shut it down.

Eventhough our sister school had to go virtual yesterday at lunch after they saw their positives case count. Half of a Monday was all they got in.

But we don't have mandatory testing, all voluntary which like 3 kids signed up for. No clue what's coming into the building. But sure, everything's fine, let's go full in-person next week.

Gonna be down a teacher until June (no long/short-term sub's walking into this). The students are just gone, detached, completely aware that the adults are fucking all this up. Straight over the cliff at full speed. Yippy-ki-yay.

There's a reason there's a long documented list of authoritarian governments and corporations targeting and trying to persecute me for my work, while none pay the slightest attention to you. It's because you're utterly impotent and inconsequential and only posture as a radical.✊
Decades of scapegoating teachers didn’t make them want to get sick so you could get your kids out of the house? No way!

💯 If public schools are such hotbeds of commie indoctrination, why are RWers so dead-set (hehe) on forcing kids into them?
Replying to @MasonTBecker

Yes Matthew, that is in fact what many of us have done. Cause we heard there's still this whole pandemic going on.
Replying to @mattyglesias
But do we believe that Chicago Public School teachers are en masse eschewing any kind of indoor gathering this January? I would find that very surprising. Stuff is open, vaccines are good, and people are doing things. As they should.
