I continue to be stunned at how kooks, attention-seekers, and slime balls who would barely have been taken seriously 10 years ago have so quickly come to dominate our national stage. It's not even political. It's a kind of moral collapse.
For example, we pollute, but buy offsets to make it someone else's problem.
We outsource our manufacturing base to another country to reduce headline energy consumption, but then buy products they make while blaming them for polluting.
This is deflection, not reform.
you grow up being conditioned by all kinds of propaganda. political propaganda, religious, moral propaganda. perhaps youre referring to something more specific than just the general concept of propaganda. otherwise very few things in this world work as consistently as propaganda
if you grow up in a context where the world is presented to you in a very specific way to give you a particular outlook that is beneficial to the ruling class or orthodoxy then that is, in fact, propaganda, and it usually does work.
Propagandists strategically omit exculpatory facts, saturate a story with irrelevant derogatory claims, misdirect, distort arguments, use straw man attacks and use innuendo to mislead... all without making a falsifiable claim.
The "spoken untruth" requirement excludes a lot.
Remember kids: false flags are crazy conspiracy theories that only ridiculous crackpots believe in, except when they're reported as fact in anonymously-sourced stories by news outlets who've lied to you about every war.
