Bronx reporter @clauirizarry says tenants feel their landlords are responsible for the fire that killed 17 on Sunday. "All of them are really asking for accountability, not just from the state and city agencies but first and foremost from their landlord and the building owners."

What's changed about your lifestyle? Are you relying on friends/family in unexpected ways? Are you freelancing between parent duties? Have you had to take out a loan or go into credit card debt? Has something else changed that my childless brain can't even imagine? Let's talk!

It's really odd how little national media has reported on the under-5 vaccine situation ... unless it's bc the journalism industry is widely inhospitable to reporters & editors with young kids, so they're absent from newsrooms & thus can't influence coverage. Just a thought.

it's ok to work a service job because that's your job. it actually doesn't have to be in service of any higher calling for it to be acceptable
Raise your hand if you've ever worked a "low skill" job to pay for "academic skills.”

I kindly disagree: young reporters, download the otter app and ask your newsroom to reimburse you if they can. The app reduces turnaround time, and recording means you can be much more detailed and accurate in your reporting... as well as have the receipts if you're challenged.
Reporters (esp newer ones), please stop recording most* of your interviews. Using a recorder is time-consuming and leads to an overreliance on quotes in your writing. (*Exceptions include potentially adversarial interviews and those to run as Q&As.) #journalismtipoftheday
